Remember the structural steel…
Structural steel has been a top-of-mind component of our building project for a long time. Initially, we had growing concerns over the rapidly escalating steel prices we were seeing worldwide. Then, we had to contend with unusually long lead time projections for steel fabrication and delivery that impacted the overall project schedule and delayed the general contractor’s mobilization to the site. And who could forget the humorous communication mishap on a Sunday morning last year when a guest speaker mistakenly announced, “The steel has been delivered,” when in reality, the steel had merely been ordered. Who would have thought there would be so much drama and intrigue surrounding structural steel?!
Well, it appears that the drama and intrigue is behind us because the steel is, in fact, making its way onto the project site, and we have the pictures and video to prove it! Vertical construction is beginning in earnest, and over the next few months, the skeletal structure of the building will gradually come into view. It will be truly exciting to see its scale and height as the building literally rises up out of the ground!
As this new phase of the project forces our gaze heavenward, may it cause our hearts to overflow with praise to our majestic God who has graciously provided the resources we need to undertake this work.
